Group
Meetings and Family Liturgies
Grades 1-5
Group Meetings are taught in the hall periodically during the
year. The purpose of these lessons is to gather the children
together in order to learn that they are part of a larger community
of people of the same grade who form the Church, the Body of
Christ.
The lessons that are taught are pertinent to their grade curriculum
or the church calendar. In conjunction with the academic presentation
by Kathy Burton or an invited speaker, the lesson may include:
a video, arts and crafts project, Christian Service project,
music, storytelling, prayer, liturgy preparation, or the use
of the church to learn about our rich traditions of prayer and
ritual.
Every class and catechist is expected to participate.
The group meeting is on Tuesdays and begins at 3:45 and ends
at 4:45.
Parents, for the protection of the children, during dismissal,
please wait at the entrance to the hall. Your child's teacher
will have your child go to you when the class is completed and
the teacher is aware that you are there.
